With the playoffs getting close, I was wondering your guy's picks on who's going to the Finals this year.

CLeavland and Boston are obviously tough in the East, although Lilp thinks DWade can singlehandedly carry the Heat somewhere.

Lakers are top dog in the West although you can never count out San Antonio and who knows about those crazy Rockets.

Me Personally I see a Lakers-Cavs Finals with the Lakers taking it, homecourt or not. Kobe will finally win without Shaq so I can quit hearing that garbage.

That's funny, though in all seriousness I think trading away Billups for AI was a horrible trade. That team lost their chemistry imo.

Detroit has no chance. They'll be a 7th or 8th seed and will have to play Cavs, Orlando, or Boston, depending on where they end up. Detroit is looking at a first round exit. I will mark your words, though. :thumb:

^guys, I have something to admit. I'm ashamed but I must come clean. I have not watched one single NBA game since 2004's all-star game. I turn of Sportscenter when its on. I just threw Detroit in there. I know you're all surprised but its the truth.

^Right on, I didn't know if it was an early April Fools joke or you're just crazy. Thanks for clearing things up. :)

I'd be rooting for that other Florida team, Dwight Howard is a beast!

Really 6th or 7th.. you think. maybe your right but I like giving the underdog a fighting chance. I say like 4th. Yeah thats a good guess, but i'm not marking any words.

Hope there wasn't any Phoenix Suns fans out there, because they blew it today. No playoffs this year.

Grabaka

^I think all the Suns fans jumped off of the bandwagon already, like the old Queens fans did a few years ago. Remember how hardcore those guys were? Now when the Lakers play in Sacramento it's like a home game.

HaHa, well put my friend. Where the frick have you been anyway? I hope you're gearing up for a long Lakers playoff run.

^I didn't have access to a computer since last thursday. It sucks because HDNet didn't show DREAM.8 live, so I barely got to watch it today. I'm totally ready for the Lakers playoff run, and the return of Bynum tomorrow night.

Trailblazers are gonna give some fits in the West I think. They've been tough at home, not to mention Brandon Roy is a stud. They won't beat the Lakers though.

Grabaka
04-11-2009, 05:51 PM
^Yeah Lakers can't win in Portland for some reason. They have a solid team for sure, but I don't see them knocking the Lakers out if they meet up in the playoffs. As good as Portland is at home, they aren't nearly as good on the road.

jhell
04-11-2009, 07:35 PM
Even though this hasn't been the Spurs best year by far, they always seem to turn it up come playoff time. Can't count them out fully. Not winning a championship but causing some problems at least.

Grabaka

^It's going to be tough with Ginobli out, though.

jhell

Well Orlando blew their chance at being the number 2 seed in the East. That's definitely gonna hurt their chances.

Looks like they're not even gonna win a game! What a stupid trade they made.

^Did you hear about Tex Winter? He had a stroke. Lakers gotta win one for Tex tonight! The creator of the triangle offense.

Detroit got the broom tonight! Cavs aren't messing around. Looks like the Bulls have some fight in them too.

Lakers move on, See ya Jazz. They'll wait for the winner of Houston/Portland which will prolly be Houston in all likelihood.

Grabaka
04-28-2009, 02:41 PM
^Yep, and Lakers own Houston this year. 4-0 in the regular season series. I think it'll be a little tough in the playoffs. Should be 4-1 Lakers.

All I can say is D-Wade not gettin the MVP or even getting 10 first place votes just shows you how gung ho the media and the NBA are about hyping Lebron. Wade had a better all around season on both sides of the court and had alot less to work with which was very evident in the playoffs. You take Lebron off of the Cavs and they still make the playoffs, you take D-Wade off the Heat and they probably wouldnt win 20 games. Wade gets no respect compared to the guy, yet he has been better than him every season he has been healthy and he actually has a ring. Its ****ing Ridiculous

I was surprised by the margin that Lebron won to be honest. Him and the Cavs sure put an *** whoopin on the Hawks tonight though.

Grabaka
05-06-2009, 12:31 AM
^Yeah the Cavs look for real. The Lakers looked like a joke last night, shooting and defense wise. It's funny because they had more rebounds, steals, assists and blocks than Houston did in game one, but they shot horribly as a team from FG and 3P range. Hopefully they get their shot back, or it's going to be an early exit for them.

Rockets made the Lakers look bad today, at this rate it's gonna be Denver taking the West.

Grabaka

Lakers totally rebounded and straight made the Rockets look silly! :thumb:

The real Lakers showed up in game seven so it's on to Denver series wise, Lakers still have homecourt. Boston choked out majorly so now it's Magic vs. Cavs, that should be a good series as well.

Grabaka
05-18-2009, 04:17 PM
^Yeah I'm glad the Lakers have homecourt, especially with the way they've been playing lately. I won't count them out, but I'm not as confident as before the playoffs started.

Orlando did well against the Cavs this year at home, but they'll need to get at least one win in Cleveland to make it a series.

jhell
05-21-2009, 09:33 AM
Orlando pulled out game one. I was really surprised. Rashard Lewis came up bigh

Grabaka
05-21-2009, 03:33 PM
^Yeah that was a good game. I wasn't that surprised that Orlando won, because they've owned the Cavs the past few seasons.

Hopefully the Lakers go up 2-0 tonight.

jhell
05-22-2009, 07:55 PM
Awful non call at the end of the game on that jump ball, that was a violation on J.R Smith and very well could have changed the outcome of the game.

jhell
05-22-2009, 11:43 PM
Lebron made the big game winning three with one second left, WOW. Unbelievable shot. Series is tied up 1-1.

Grabaka
05-24-2009, 01:26 AM
^Yeah that was a great buzzer beater. Poor D by the Magic, though.

Lakers looked like crap again tonight for most of the game, but Kobe and Pau turned it up in the 4th. Hopefully they can steal another one on the road and go up 3-1 on Monday.

jhell
05-25-2009, 02:35 PM
Cavs should be thanking their lucky stars that they're not down 3-0 right now. If the real Lakers show up I could see them stealing another one on Denver's court. They were the best road team in the NBA during the regular season.

jhell
05-27-2009, 01:03 PM
^^Close enough, they're down 3-1. What an intense game though. Orlando turned it on in overtime to take the commanding lead.

The Finals are set Lakers vs. Magic with L.A having home court. That's what I'm talking about.

Lil P

What a great day nothing made me smile more than seeing the most overrated player in the Nba get sent packing. Whats that six years in the league and no ring Lebron? Tisk, tisk, Maybe now the media will stop this insane hype that they have been spewing for the last few years. Magic for the upset in 6 War Howard!!!!! and War Magic!!!

jhell
06-05-2009, 02:16 AM
Game one Finals and the Lakers put a whoopin on that ***. Hell yeah!

Lakers up 2-0 with an overtime win, They were so close to losing on the last second alley oop. Boy they got lucky on that one.

lakers are going to win this series most likely. Dwight needs to be better utilized on offense, he is a lot stronger than gasol or bynum

jhell

Derek Fisher definitely represented, huge win. I hope they win it all in L.A let the magic have one more LOL
