Sad day in the baseball world and the city of Philadelphia as they lost a legend. Phillies announcer Harry Kalas died today at the age of 73. Kalas was reportedly found in a press box preparing for a game in Washington D.C. Sad day indeed for the game of baseball. Kalas will be missed.

I did see that the Cubs had a moment of silence for him and also for the young kid that played for the Angels that was killed in a car accident...The girl who does my hair actually lives only blocks from where that kid was killed, and so sad...

Kalas was awesome. He was also the narrator for NFL Films and did voiceover work for "Inside the NFL" for 30 years. R.I.P.

This really is sad news. This guy was revered in Philly. I loved this guy. His voice was really comforting. These legendary announcers are such a big part of the game. Every city has one and it really sucks when they pass on.
Awesome that he was honored with a moment of silence by the Cubs. That speaks for the class of that organization as much as how this man was respected in the baseball world. They already have a restaurant named for him in the new ballpark. It is called Harry the K's. Harry can now join his former broadcasting partner Richie Ashburn, who died in 1997. These guys were the best.

Very sad news. Kalas was the best. And I say that without being a Phils fan. Also, if you like the classic NFL films, that was Kalas as well. Without his voice those films wouldn't be nearly as popular as they were/are.
