View Full Version : Feedback needed for fighter information forum
OK girls here’s your big chance. I’m preparing to start hammering out some fighter info posts to sticky in the Fighter Forum. I am putting together a template first of what will be included for each fighter.
For those not familiar with the Fighter Forum…It will have some of the most popular and/or ranked fighters organized by weight class. You can start threads in that section too, but I am just dealing with getting all the permanent fighter information done. I got a lot of work ahead of me, but I live for it. I’ll probably learn a lot along the way too. :D
Below I have listed the standard information that is usually included about a fighter.
One of the extra things I plan on including is any websites, blogs, or myspace links that each fighter has.
It won’t be in the fighter info portion, but I also plan on having a sticky thread for any interviews done by each fighter.
Please let me know if there is something else you would like included for each fighter.

I suggested college because I like to see if they were a wrestler and then check the archives of the amateur wrestling print publications I get to see how successful they were in their Division. Big surprise, huh?
(Boo-I still have 2 years NCAA eligiblity left. Do you think if I lie about my age and enroll I can still roll around? I think can make 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart at a D-III school!):crutch:

I'm beginning to think we can read each other's minds here. Earlier, I started to type in my post some smart comment about how you needed to know which college the wrestlers went to.

That depends on two things:
1. How good of a liar are you
2. How gullible everyone else is.
Better plan, volunteer to help out at one of the local high schools wrestling program and get it out of your system there. Take the freshmen.

reach maybe
I like the idea of adding reach however UFC has some lame idea of what reach is....DOES EVERYONE KNOW THAT YOU ARE AS TALL AS YOU ARE FROM FINGER TIP TO FINGER TIP?!?! Well then why do the UFC stats say hight = 6 feet and reach = 72 inches....:dunce: :dunce: Reach should be only what you can actually reach. like either knuckle of closed fist to inside of armpit or finger tip to inside of armpit. I have no idea why no one has not stopped their madness, but never the less its a great thing to add to out stats...as lomg as its not just the fighter height in inches lol :(

You know, I didn't suggest it to be funny, but now that I read your post, it IS funny. I crack myself up, or you crack me up...
As you can guess, I meant like what the guy has done in the past to support himself, or in the case of Chris Lytle, a fulltime job as a firefighter. I think it is pretty amusing that Mike Bisbing had a job as a gravedigger at one time. I think it's interesting.
Double post prevented :) see post below

I never thought about it before, but I can see how "association'' could be taken that way.

Okey doke....I'm trying to find a suggestion amongst that
Are you suggesting I don't use the UFC stats for a fighters reach, but instead try and find the info elsewhere?
If so, I can check fighter websites, but have you any other good references to suggest?
Would their websites say anything different or would they just follow the UFC example???
