Incentive

I have noticed that this is a newer forum. I have also noticed others talking about needing new members, or trying to get people to come back after 1 visit.

Maybe some sort of incentive pack. A bunch of website goodies all rolled up into a bag and delivered by brvheart to their pm box. Instead of handing over a belt, bank points, arcade access, smilie packs, etc... Let them pick them up. Might throw some avatars in there.
Of course this is not a minor change. I can see where it may take a long time to get it laid out and put back together.

Well, I will need to brainstorm on all this for a while, to add some more ideas.

Feel free to jump in with your own ideas. Or tell me to stop rambling, if this is dumb.

OH YEAH..... maybe throw in a spell check somewhere :dunce:

spell check is there...most of the other items are there if you subscribe to the site to help keep it going. Things such as uploading custom avatars, bigger pm box, post editing etc etc etc are all things that people who subscribe to the site. This is a great brainstorming post though....so lets have at it :)

Donations would help that as well. Plus we could have a grab bag of something for an attraction to new members.

Something I have been doing is getting a link to mmaworld put on other websites. Two examples:

One is a pro wrestling forum that has a section where they allow you to put links and a description of your site.

The other is a MMA Yahoo group in Iowa that I contacted the administrater and asked if he would add our link to the others he had on his site. He added it right away.

That's just two examples. I've got links added to other mma related sites as well. One thing to keep in mind though, is not to put a link just anywhere. A site dedicated to the joys of cannibalism or a porn site would not be the place we want to recruit.

If you post on another forum, you can also put a link to mmaworld in your signature.
