View Full Version : Question for forum members about event downloads
When I am uploading fights to Megaupload which would you prefer
1. Split the event into smaller pieces (~300 MB), requiring you to combine them with WinRAR or
2. Upload the event intact so that after you download it, you can watch it/burn it immediately, without using WinRAR (up to 1,000 MB).

Some of us live in the middle of BFE and 300 megs is not worth it, much less 1 gig. Damn 1.5 Mb/s connection.
That is barely fast enough to watch po....the pottery channel videos.
You've got the same connection speed as I do and I'm downloading and uploading. It could be better of course, but it's still doable.

well if your uploading to megaupload or something like that, then one gb you would have to be a premium member which alot of people are not,so i say split them where you dont have to a membership to download

1.5 Mb/s / 8 bits = .1875 megs a second
.1875 megs a second * 60 seconds = 11.25 megs a minute
1024 megs / 11.25 megs a minute = 91.02 minutes
This is at the absolute theoretical maximum for a 1.5 Mb/s connection with no overhead.
It is all in how you want to use your bandwidth. You upload speed on any connection (barring you having a university or business plan) is atrocious. I would be surprised if you have 384 kb/s for your upload speed. Take all these calculation and multiple by 3.9 and that is how long it takes to upload the same video. It is about 355 minutes.

I believe Megaupload has a limit for non-members of around 1,000. I will test it out though before I upload a bunch of stuff.

Actually, I uploaded several events at 700 MB each earlier today. It took just a few minutes for each one. It was WAY faster than I can download them.

What plan are you on? It is very strange to have a faster upload speed than download speed. Even most business plans usually only match the UL/DL speeds. Are you sure you only have a 1.5 Mb/s connection speed?
