so far this is another card that doesn't appeal to the average fan. They need a better main event. I love some of the match ups here but the casual fan looks confused when you ask them if htey know who jon jones is. Or brandon vera for that matter.

^I thought the opposite actually. This is a pretty stacked card so far, for a non-ppv event. A lot of people know who Vera is by now. He's main evented a few UFN cards and has been on plenty of PPV. Jones was the main event for the last TUF finale. The co-main event of Dos Santos vs. Gonzaga looks great. Most know who Guida and Sherk are as well. I wasn't expecting a mega card on Versus, so I'm pleased with this one.

^I was hoping that this would be on Spike. I too am looking forward to the GG vs JDS fight. That will be a fun one for us. I ask people about Vera and all they know of him are his last few fights when he's looked less than impressive.....minus the couture fight where he lost anyway but looked better than he has.

^I hear ya. I'm not super excited about this one or anything, but it definitely looks better then say the last few UFN cards, which is basically what this is. To tell you the truth, not many cards get me pumped anymore. Fortunately, UFC 111 and 112 are looking very good so far.

theres a few fights on the card im interested in seeing,i think the sherk fight will be pretty good,as long as he doesnt take it to the ground and try to lay and pray a decision out of it.and i want to see how anthony johnson looks this fight as well.the main event i could really care less about,i see jon pulling out a victory though.

A heavyweight clash between rising star Junior Dos Santos and Gabriel Gonzaga is set to co-headline UFC Fight Night 21 on March 21 in Denver, Colorado, along with a bout between Jon Jones and Brandon Vera.

The event will be the first from the UFC to be broadcast live on Versus. The network has only shown the UFC’s sister promotion, World Extreme Cagefighting, events in the past, however recently announced they will be airing two live UFC shows in the new year.

The bout was originally scheduled for UFC 108 earlier this month, however Gonzaga had to bow out of the fight due to a staph infection. Dos Santos went on to defeat Gonzaga's replacement, Gilbert Yvel, via first-round TKO. Before that, the 25-year-old Brazilian overwhelmed Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 103 with his diversified striking, ultimately defeating Cro Cop via TKO in the third round.

Gonzaga has made some grumblings about getting another shot at the UFC crown after losing to Randy Couture at UFC 74 in his only five round affair, however he hasn’t performed to the liking of UFC brass to warrant a mulligan.

Although he holds a 15-4 record, he is coming off a controversial victory over UFC newcomer Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 102. Gonzaga earned a first round TKO after he inadvertent kicked Tuchscherer’s groin, causing him to briefly lose consciousness. Tuchscherer was able to resume, however was clearly not the same fighter as Gonzaga teed-off on his dome.

The UFC will have a busy in March as UFC Fight Night on Versus is scheduled to air on March 21, 2010. Less than a week later, UFC 111 will take place on March 27th in Newark, NJ. Days later, the UFC is slated to air a Fight Night show on Spike TV on March 31st.

I am with you on this one. I have never been impressed by Gonzaga. I was impressed when he KOed Filipovic, but that went away fairly quickly after watching Cro Cop's subsequent fights. That is like being Trevor Berbick, who was Mohammad Ali's last fight. At first you say "holy ****, that guy just beat Ali!" Years later you look at it and go..."yeah...not that big of an accomplishment at that time..."

Gonzaga is too slow to stand with dos santos. if they do stand dos santos will rip him a few times and then we'll see some takedown attempts.

Why must Dish make Versus a tier 3 channel?!? I will not be watching this card...sadly...I really like a lot of the fights on here also.

^At least Dish gives you the option to have Versus. DirecTV doesn't have Versus at all, at the moment. They don't want us to pirate the stuff, but its kind of hard when you have no other options.

Exclusive: Sean Sherk vs. Clay Guida scratched from UFC on Versus

A previously rumored lightweight showdown between former 155 pound champion Sean Sherk and Clay Guida has recently been abandoned.

The pair had previously been expected to slug it out during UFC on Versus, which is expected to take place from Broomfield, Colorado on March 21.

I don't get Versus either. I absolutely refuse to pay Dish for a ton of channels I won't watch every month just so I can get Versus.

Who does get Versus on here?

^Funny story for you. I had Versus, but my cable company absolutely sucked and was getting worse. I switched to directv not knowing about the contract dispute, and had Versus in HD for the first time for about a whole week. lol That's right when they took it off directv. Missed my first WEC on tv since before they showed it on HDNet, pre-zuffa.

I do. They play WEC events a lot. It's either WEC Wrekcage, Rodeo or fishing. nothing else.
