Smilies in the shoutbox... Where'd they go ?

Yes they are....it slows the shoutbox load, and slows the homepage load....I need to clean out the entire shoutbox...and see if that helps with server load etc. If it does I will turn them back on, if not I will have to figure something out.

I cleared the shoutbox and turned smilies back on for it, please do not go crazy with them. I will be clearing the shoutbox more often to help the main page load quicker etc.

You just nailed the reason I didn't like them either. I haven't missed anything recently because Brvheart increased the number of lines you can scroll back and see. I don't remember exactly, but I'd say it's easily 3X more than it was. Now I don't mind the smiles so much.
