So I got my first stripe today..... So far I am enjoying the site and the people.
Now I just need to work on getting some of those nifty icons in my profile and getting some THANKS.. I SEE PEOPLE WITH NO REAL POSTS THAT HAVE THANKS WTF???
Whats the easiest way to get thanks other than contributing...Bribery :noidea: :lolbeat:
PS - Mods..not sure where I should have placed this so move it if needs be
There are two different things people do when they are pleased with something you post. One you mentioned. Thanking someone. The other is giving someone "rep," short for reputation.
If you look under your avatar at the bottom there are some icons there. One of them is for "rep." If you click that on someone else's post, you can type in a comment and select approve or disapprove. Typically, you only give rep when someone does something REALLY good. Like digging up some great info that everyone's is anxious to hear or you go to a lot of trouble to help someone.
The reason I bring the rep up is because I think I gave you rep instead of thanks for the pics you posted of yourself. If you open up your User CP and scroll to the bottom of the page, you should see it, if I did.
OK, back to your original question. People get it for all the things you would usually thank someone for. When I was working on my fighter info template I asked for feedback. The people who gave me constructive critisism all got thanks from me. A lot is given when people find good articles or news from MMA sites and bring it back here and post it. Starting a particularly good thread is an example. If you post a question and someone goes to the trouble to answer it, then you thank them.
If you hover your mouse over the gift icons in someone's post, you will often see a comment from the giver about why they gave it.
Hope I didn't ramble too much and this is understandable. I'm pretty tired right now, so forgive me.
