fantastic book. the movie actually did a good job of portraying some of the stories.
I'm currently in the middle of The Rum Diary by Hunter Thompson.

My buddy sent me the high res pics from that. Damn she is hot.
And I'm usually an avid reader...but with so much to read for my classes, I don't read much when I'm in school.
As for favourite authors... Hemingway, Vonnegut, Dean Koontz, Isaac Asimov.
I think the last book I read was I, robot. Good book, and completely different from the movie. It's beyond a stretch to think of the movie and book as telling the same story, never mind the details.

Crap. Almost two months later, and I'm on the same book. I am, however, also reading "First In" which is an account of the first CIA team into Afghanistan after 9/11. And I just zipped throught Brad Thor's new book, 'The Athena Project'.
Hey Prophet, didn't you tell me once that you had read a lot of Arthur C Clarke?

Oh wow, I am a huge Clarke fan. One of his best books is one he co-wrote with Stephan Baxter called The Light Of Other Days. I am a huge hard sci-fi fan and Clarke is awesome at keeping things grounded in what could actually happen or is just about to take place. The 4 book Rama series was another one that grabbed me from Clarke.
Oh hell, I am a fantasy nerd also. If they had a scifi/fantasy book club here in my little BFE town I would be one of "those" people.
Currently, I am reading Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett. For all the ultra nerds out there it is a set of novels set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
I use to read a lot of Dean Koontz, but around the time of Winter Moon it seemed like his writing and story telling lost it. I would have sworn he was paying a college kid to write his books and he just slapped his name on it. Watchers is definitely one of my favorite books.
I read I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell while on vacation in Las Vegas with my wife. Who the hell reads in Vegas on vacation? Anyway, she would just look at me with amused/what is wrong with you expressions as I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe with tears streaming down my face. The movie was OK, but it did not do justice to that book.

Terrific. That gives me a place to start. If I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell is that good I'll have to pick that up as well. It's not often that a book will make you laugh that hard.

I just received my copy of Teri Tom's Martial Arts Nutrition: A Precision Guide to Fulfilling Your Fighting Edge. I have always had weak cardio, so I'm working on that. I also thought that a change in my diet could also help, but I'm pretty clueless on how I can find out what I should be eating to achieve my goals.

Good for you man, keep it up. Nutrition really helps you get the most out of your training! When you're eating the right things in the right amounts/times, it really makes you feel better all around.
I'm sure the book will cover what you need to know, but there's also a thread or two on nutrition floating around. Here's one I go off of:

Just finished reading "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi on the Kindle App for my Droid. I hadn't read it in years and it's a great book. I then ordered the sequel, "Ghost Brigades" and I'll be reading that again next. It's fun having the Kindle on my phone since it's always with me. Every spare 5 minutes I get, I'm reading a chapter. I've been reading classics on it lately (since they're free).
