DETAILED RESULTS

PRELIM FIGHT RESULTS - may be televised

Fight #1:
-Rich Clementi vs. Ross Pointon

Round 1: Round one opens with the two feeling each other out. Clementi working leg kicks. Not a ton of action. A Clementi round.

Round 2: Round two saw the finish of the fight. Similar to the first round early on until later in the round when Clementi got Pointon on the ground, took his back, and secured the rear naked choke for the submission victory.

Rich Clementi def. Ross Pointon via Submission (rear naked choke) in Round 2.

Fight #2:
-Din Thomas vs. Clay Guida

Round 1: Awesome round, Guida's. He did effective damage throughout the round with some good ground and pound at one point.

Round 2: Another good round, this one went to Thomas. Thomas avoided Guida's takedowns and was out-striking him to win the round 10-9.

Round 3: Great fight, went the distance though, so probably won't make the air. Third round was all standing, with both guys seemingly tired. Guida kept trying for takedowns but couldn't get any. This round was close, but probably Din's.

Din Thomas def. Clay Guida via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after 3 Rounds.

Fight #3:
-Ed Herman vs. Chris Price

Round 1: Didn't get out of the first. The two felt each other out standing briefly, before the fight hit the floor. Eventually, Herman secured an armbar forcing the tapout and victory.

Ed Herman def. Chris Price via Submission (armbar) in Round 1.

Fight #4:
-Josh Burkman vs. Chad Reiner

Round 1: Didn't get much details on this one. Apparently Burkman got a ton of takedowns and controlled the action. At one point, Burkman even did a wicked suplex takedown/slam.

Round 2: Was said to be a similar round to the first, with Burkman getting takedowns at will and completely controlling the fight.

Round 3: Another similar round. Burkman with several takedowns and effective ground and pound.

Josh Burkman def. Chad Reiner via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) after 3 Rounds.

Fight #5:
-Nathan Marquardt vs. Dean Lister

Round 1: Most of the round was Marquardt out-striking Lister. On the ground, he was dominating from the top position. Clear-cut round for Marquardt.

Round 2: More of the same here, Marquardt is clearly winning this fight.

Round 3: Marquardt knocked Lister down multiple times with knees and punches, but would let him back up. Total domination by Marquardt.

Nathan Marquardt def. Dean Lister via Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-25) after 3 Rounds.

TELEVISED FIGHT RESULTS

Fight #6:
-Hermes Franca vs. Spencer Fisher

Round 1: Pretty good first round. Was close until the end. Started off with Fisher getting the better on the feet. Franca at one point ducked his head and swung very wildly. Franca got a takedown, didn't do much - tried for a leg submission but didn't get it. Fisher escaped to his feet. Fisher lands good body shots, Franca landed one good head shot. Franca gets him down again, wasn't doing much but finished strong to steal the round.

Round 2: Franca was winning early. On the ground, Franca tries another leg submission but didn't get it. Later on the feet, Fisher turned the heat on and Franca was looking to tire. Late in the round, Franca clipped Fisher standing and stunned him. He followed through with weak punches, but eventually got some big ones in and the referee stopped the bout.

Hermes Franca def. Spencer Fisher via TKO (strikes) in Round 2.

Fight #7:
-Heath Herring vs. Jake O'Brien

Round 1: Decent first round, crowd got on them a couple times. Nothing much early until Herring knocked O'Brien on his butt with a punch. Couldn't follow up, and ended up underneath O'Brien taking shots. Back on the feet, O'Brien gets a takedown and remains on top of Herring pounding away here and there, likely enough to make the round closer than you'd think considering the knockdown.

Round 2: All O'Brien here. Took Herring down at will and was pounding away, eventually opening up a cut that spilled a good bit of blood. Herring seems tired and has no answers for O'Brien, who is quick enough to avoid all of Herring's attacks standing, which causes Herring to show visible frustration. Maybe even a 10-8 round.

Round 3: Boring round until the end, then it got real exciting. Herring almost did a major comeback at the end, but couldn't seal the deal. He dropped O'Brien again, but again tried for the Nogueira-choke and lost position, ending up on the bottom. With 20 seconds left they were stood up, and Herring almost finished the deal again, but lost position and had O'Brien on his back as the horn sounded. O'Brien got a lot of takedowns and was getting great positioning on the ground, but that was all (in this round at least). Could be a fishy decision, we'll see!

Jake O'Brien def. Heath Herring via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) after 3 Rounds.

Fight #8:
-Rashad Evans vs. Sean Salmon

Round 1: Surprisingly a Salmon round. He caught him once or twice with a good shot standing, was way in control in terms of the aggressor and got a takedown. Rashad didn't do much of anything and lost this round.

Round 2: Rashad dominated the **** out of him here and delivered maybe the best high kick knockout since...well CroCop-Silva late last year. Early on Rashad caught him with a flurry standing, knees, punches, etc. He didn't finish the deal but moments later he landed that incredibly awesome high kick and Salmon was totally and completely unconscious.

Rashad Evans def. Sean Salmon via KO (high kick) in Round 2.

I was suprised so many people thought Ross Pointon would win this fight, even though a love the guy. It did'nt take a crystal ball to figure out that Ross was going to get choked out....again.

I'm with you on this one. I like the guy too, but he seems to only want to bang. You don't make it in the big show doing that.
