View Full Version : Episode 4 - Jen's team wins again... 4 - 0
:woot:
I couldn't be more tickled by another Team Pulver win. I think we are starting to see why BJ said he wouldn't do it again and Jens said he had a great time on the show.
Since Gabe is fighting next week and is still 22 pounds over, the chances are good for another win for Team Pulver at the end of next week.
Gabe certainly called it tonight about Andy. Dude won't listen to anyone. He won't go anywhere if he won't fight the smart fight.
FINALLY Matt manages to appear on screen for more than two minutes without looking like a jerk. Thank you Matt. THAT is the guy I see here at home.

Sure rub it in. Nice to know you rub rub elbows and hobnob with all the big names.

can't blame BJ when the guy does NOTHING Bj is telling him to do. I don't know but if BJ Penn was in my corner I would be listening to him.
"take him down!"
"TAKE HIM DOWN!"
"TAKE HIM DOWN!"
Helloooooo..... are you deaf????
I don't know. I think the fights will begin to even up now that the lower level fighters are being weeded out on BJ's team. I think Pulver is going to have to have some of his lesser skilled fighters fighting soon.
I am not sold on Corey HIll. Everyone has said he is pretty raw. Of course I am not a fan of Gabe Ruediger either so I don't know.

I would be frustrated if I was BJ. He keeps telling the guy to take him down and the guy keeps throwing hands and getting tagged. The guy from Team Pulver had a huge reach advantage and good stand up, Andy got the raw end of almost every exchange in that fight. I don't get it, I can understand a fighter freezing up and making bad decisions in a fight but to have BJ yelling instructions to you and to just blow him off is inexplicable. If Corey fight Gabe he can punch him from the other side of the Octagon, the guy has arms like Mr Fantastic.
BTW. Boo; nice Avatar
Agreed about BJ and Corey. BJ had it right when he said he didn't know why Andy was so upset, since he chose to lose.
Guessing that Corey is going to win next week is based completely on the condition that Gabe is likely to be in after cutting that much weight. Who knows though, Spike loves to edit this stuff so that it looks like something it's not.
@Easye: I think hobnobbing is a stretch. Not like Matt is inviting me over for dinner. It's just when you see someone over and over and form a positive opinion on what you think is consistent behavior, then they go on TV and appear completely different....what are you supposed to believe? What I saw on TUF last night reminded me of the first time I met Matt Hughes. I was at a show in Iowa and didn't even know he was there. After the show was over I was hanging around talking to Jeremy Horn (very cool dude). The place was nearly cleared out and people were starting to clean stuff up. I look over at this guy folding up chairs and stacking them and think, WTH isn't that Matt Hughes? Sure enough here was the 4 or 5 time Champ stacking freakin' chairs, friendly as he could be, smiling from ear to ear, and glad to sign an autograph. Can you see why this image doesn't jive with what we've seen on TV?
:jump:
Let's hear a cheer for a Team Pulver SWEEP!!!
Edit: Thanks Keithpas, she does dress the place up some.

Needless to say I will be shocked if Pulver pulls off a sweep. If Matt Hughes acted like that everytime I saw him I would definitely have a different opinion of him. I will wait and see how he acts on the next season of TUF when he is on the show for more than just one day. Then I will make a decision.
I think Corey's only chance is a completely depleted Gabe. I don't know though have never seen Corey fight. It will be an interesting show though.

From a viewer's standpoint, that was a terrible fight. I have no doubt that Dana White will never have Andy fight in the UFC after that performance.
Way back - weeks/months before this season started, I was one of the guys who almost guaranteed that BJ Penn would be a jerk on the show. Other than the di*k move to Jens in the team selection process, so far I am really impressed with how he is coming across/being portrayed. He is the kind of coach I would work hard for. I did not expect that. You can't blame him for having no sympathy for Andy after that loss. BJ was so frustrated he couldn't contain himself.
