this was copied from anther site word for word....I will edit this post when I can find the official announcement..

I'm sorry to bring the depressing news but UFC veteran and former top contender Jeremy Horn has just retired. This will be the official thread to remember one of the greatest middleweight fighters to ever step in the octagon. Here are some of his highlights:

-March 21' 1996: Jeremy Horn at age 21 debuts against Rick Graveson to win by armbar at 1:21 in the first round.

-May 15' 1998: Jeremy Horn (9-2-2) debuts in the UFC at UFC 17 Redemption, taking possibly the best UFC middleweight ever (Frank Shamrock) to distance before losing by kneebar at the 7 minute mark in the first round.

-March 5' 1999: Jeremy Horn returns to the octagon (after losing to Ebenezer Braga at UFC Ultimate Brazil 1) and gives Chuck Liddell his first ever lost via TKO/Technical Submission Triangle Choke. Impressive victory.

-February 23' 2001: Jeremy Horn suprisingly snaps his three match winning streak by losing to underdog Elvis Sinosic by a quick armbar. He leaves the octagon for a very long time and does not return until UFC 54.

-December 23' 2001: Jeremy Horn defeats Akira Shoji by unanimous decision in an impressive PRIDE FC debut at PRIDE 18: Cold Fury 2.

-June 23' 2002: Jeremy Horn as the underdog defeats high ranked heavyweight at the time, Gilbert Yvel by unanimous decision at PRIDE 21: Demolition. His last PRIDE FC fight.

-August 20' 2005: Jeremy Horn returns to the octagon after being in KOTC and other MMA organizations for three years. He fights against top light heavyweight in the UFC, Chuck Liddell, the man he beat. As a middleweight, Jeremy Horn was impressive but Chuck Liddell improved massively since their last bout in 1999. Chuck Liddell wins 4th round TKO. Jeremy Horn won round 3, but Chuck dominated round 1, 2, and 4 to make Horn give up.

-May 27' 2006: Jeremy Horn once again fights in the UFC in an opening bout. He defeats tough wrestler Chael Sonnen to go on a two match UFC winning streak. He wins by 2nd round submission. However after the fight, Horn left the UFC.

-September 9' 2006: Jeremy Horns winning streak is ended by Matt Lindland by an impressive TKO by Lindland early in the second round in an IFL competition. A week and a half after the fight, Horn announces retirement.

Jeremy Horn will always be remembered as a middleweight legend in MMA. He has one of the most impressive MMA records and has a list of impressive opponents beaten. Not only a great fighter, but a great trainer. Will be missed deeply!

I always thought he had great Jiu-Jitsu, and was very composed in the ring. But he never did get the Championship.....

he has GOOD JJ great JJ would be bj penn.

I just think horn thought he was TOO good for someone who never won the championship, like the way he talked and ev1 in militech talked about liddell for liddell VS horn and then he got beat on.

The whole militech camp is like that.
