I've been here for 6 years, so i've had plenty of time to realize that the East Coast is really bad for this California girl. If that wasn't sad enough, I'll actually be here for another year- though possibly moving to Boston or New York. I'm hoping training will help make it all more pleasant.

I am originally from the East coast in NJ, about 20 minutes from midtowm Manhattan. Now I live a couple of hours outside of Seattle,Wa. in a nice little Scandanavian town, Poulsbo. I moved from East to West when I was in the military, I don't think I would ever go back East if I did'nt have to.

I'm originally from Moline, Illinois. It's right across the Mississippi from the main Miletich camp in Davenport, Iowa.

I've lived in Iowa for the past 12 years and I love it here. I've traveled a lot, but you couldn't pry me out of the Midwest for any amount of $$$.

Interesting that a bunch of you are in the DC area. I've got a boatload of friends out there that I used to vacation with every year at the Outer Banks. I've visited the DC area a lot, and the best thing about having friends there is, never ever having to drive. EEK!!!

Its definitely historical, probably can be traced back to Reconstruction. It is getting better by electing honest and qualified candidates. There was a point a few years back where there were around five city council members that were indited or arrested and imprisoned for a wide variety of crimes including illegal drug use, racketering, and tax fraud.

Here's a short article by the city's cuurent mayor, Doug Wilder (former VA Governor). I don't agree with his politics but, he has done good work for Richmond. He describes some of Richmond's past problems.

I broke my little toe once. I was 9 or 10 and a friend and I were playing barefoot soccer with a little Nerf basketball and I kicked it hard.

Strangely, the ball didn't provide a very good barrier between his shin and my little toe. Poor little toe, it is deformed to this day.

Just thought I would compare that to your broken arm. :crutch:

Hurts like a *****, too.....see...now you know why I was comparing it to a broken arm.

Boo...it seems like you are a violent person...wishing virtual nose punches and such....

I worked at a roller rink when I was in high school and college and I saw a lady fall down and bust her ankle at a 90 degree angle to the left. It was disgusting. She was a nurse and was there with some of her work friends and them calmly made a split from cardboard, carried her to the car, and took her to the hospital.

Another time a kid about 6 or 7 came up to us holding his arm between the wrist and th elbow (can you see where this is going?!?!?) and calmly told us he thinks he hurt his arm. We say OK...lets have a look. He moves his hand and **** sure enough, he has a major fracture that is pushing against the skin. It looked like he had an extra elbow.

Me and the other guy nearly fall down and the kids see us freak and he starts crying. I felt bad, but it was an honest reaction from us.

If you guys are really good, I will describe to you how I can dance around like Axl Rose in the Sweet Child O' Mine video on skates.

You know you want it....

Yeah they have everything in Honolulu, but it's very expensive because of shipping costs. I've been to Oahu, Hawaii, and Kauai. My favorite of the 3 was Kauai, because it was just peaceful and relaxing. Oahu was cool for all the tourist stuff. The Big Island was fun as well. That was the 1st time I went to Hawaii. I was only 6, so I don't remember much. Just remember staying in Kona and Hilo and checking out alot of Volcanos and Waterfalls. Beautiful place though.

Its actually about 16miles directly west of the city. I just jump on 290 west and i'm at the lake in about 15 minutes barring any major traffic jams or shootings on the expressway.

Suburbanites are the worst. the people my age are mostly clowns that were born with silver spoons in their mouths. I'm not saying that I was born on the streets and grew up in a cardboard box but i most certainly was not given everything I have. those kids.....we'll say they make me angry.

Wellll...since I don't keep up with big headed clowns, or big breasted ones either, I can't say that will be on my to do list. Sorry..haha.. But I do live right around the corner from a fight shop, so if I run into him I'll be sure to ask.

yeah....ummm....HB is a city of about 200,000, so I'm pretty sure it'll never happen, so don't hold your breath...or hold it against me if I don't. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer..

hahaha...I didn't go that day though, it was just you boys.
Double post prevented :) see post below
and don't forget, we moved, about .25 miles away from where we were, so I am that much further from the gym...YAY!
