Wow...that blew UFC out of the water. Too bad the show sucked.

Now that's how a fight payroll is supposed to look. 300K for Gracie, it's great he's still getting paid well.

I will guess you are not talking about the two guys that only made 2500 bucks.

Weren't they part of the Elite XC part? That means they're paid by Pro Elite right?

And Gracie didn't deserve that much for his win.

I think it was a K-1 event so they had to pay all the fighters same as Pro-elite had to pay all the fighters when they had the "joint" show with strikeforce.

Gracie got paid for his name the same way Brock Lesnar and Johnie Morton did.

Oh...well thanks for clearing it up for me. And your right about the name. Only reason.

It's definitely the best pay some of those fighters will ever see in their pro fighting careers. Really good pay out by K1/EXC. I'm interested in seeing what the Strikeforce/EXC pay looks like. Fighters pay seems to be going up more and more lately. It's good to see some of these guys paid what they are worth.

WOW 500K for Brock...is this thing for real. 200K more then Gracie....Man, I knew Brock would make some nice money...but never thought he would make more then Royce his first at bat.

Brock Lesner gets $500,000 and Kazushi Sakuraba gets $30,000???

Am I missing something? I could really care less about seeing Lesner fight. I guess that must be unusual.

I agree with that Boo. I bet Gracie had it in his contract to make over 90k if he lost. Kim lost to Brock and made as much as Sakuraba did....and he IMO was not the underdog in his fight. I am not happy with poor Sakuraba's payday at all.....but I would like to see Brock keep fighting. Just not making as much a Liddell. He needs to earn those big checks....not have them handed to him.

If we would have had a poll to guess how much Lesnar got paid for this fight, i would have guessed 50-60 grand. Seriously. Half a million is WWE money. I would think that some experienced blue collar heavyweight mixed martial artist (Ben Rothwell comes to mind) would use this as motivation to want to fight him and initiate him into "The Club". Like when I was a kid playing little league on a team that just wore t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers my Mom bought in aisle 4 at the Acme and we kicked the crap out of the rich kids who had real uniforms and spikes.
I am sure he and his people can make the argument that he has already paid his dues or earned the right to make that kind of cash, but that was a different "arena" -college wrestling, fake wrestling, and bench pressing in the gym. I want to see him in a 15 minute war with a guy with some real MMA skill and heart and who throws with bad intentions.
I write this a Brock Lesnar fan, btw.

I too am a Brock fan, and feel the same way. 101% It took MMA fighters years to make that kind of money, and some of the better fighters don't even get that. In fact I think Tito and Chuck are the only other two guys who I have seen with paychecks even close to that amount. Royce didn't even make that kind of money and he is a well seasoned vet, not to mention was one of the ring leaders behind starting UFC.

This is not saying he should be making some nice money, but surely not 500k for a debut match.....

I wouldn't be too concerned with Sak's pay. A lot of times fighters that are from different countries only show a fraction of what they are making to the state athletic commissions. The reason being is that before they return home it is taxed by the US around 50%. I would be willing to bet he make alot more on the back end when he returns to Japan.
