“The Ultimate Fighter 6″ Complete Rumored Cast
UFC Junkie on July 27, 2007 at 9:52 am ET

In recent weeks, UFCjunkie.com ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) has released a total of 15 rumored cast members for the upcoming welterweights-only sixth season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” With the addition of two final names, we believe we have now pieced together the entire cast.

“The Ultimate Fighter 6” debuts Sept. 19 (at 11 p.m. ET/PT) on Spike TV and features current UFC 170-pound champion Matt Serra and former champ Matt Hughes as coaches. After the debut, the show will air on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. The season will conclude with a live finale that takes place Dec. 8 at The Palms Las Vegas.

The show recently concluded filming, and the fighters and coaches have returned home.

In addition to the previously reported 15 names, we can now add Australian George Sotiropoulos (7-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and amateur Daniel Barrera (0-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to the list.

The latest additions bring the total number of cast members to 17 — for what is usually a group of 16 fighters. However, UFCjunkie.com has learned that one of the cast members is injured during the filming of the show, and a replacement is brought in.

Sotiropoulos, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, is a frequent competitor in submission grappling tournaments and was an ADCC World Championships participant. His only career losses are to Shinya Aoki (11-2 MMA) and Kyle Noke (13-3 MMA).
Little is known about Barrera, who is believed to have won just one amateur fight. Apparently, he had success in U.S. Armed Forces Pankration tournaments.

Unlike last season, no cast member from “The Ultimate Fighter 6” has any experience in the Octagon; all will be UFC newcomers.

The complete cast from “The Ultimate Fighter 6” includes:

• Matt Arroyo (2-1 MMA)
• Daniel Barrera (0-0 UFC)
• Blake Bowman (0-0 MMA)
• Mac Danzig (16-4-1 MMA)
• Paul Georgieff (7-1 MMA)
• Richie Hightower (7-1 MMA)
• John Koloski (8-4 MMA)
• Jon Koppenhaver (4-1 MMA)
• Troy Mandaloniz (2-1 MMA)
• Billy Miles (2-1 MMA)
• Roman Mitichyan (3-1 MMA)
• Dorian Price (6-2 MMA)
• Jared Rollins (4-3 MMA)
• Ben Saunders (4-0-2 MMA)
• Joe Scarola (3-0 MMA)
• George Sotiropoulos (7-2 MMA)
• Tommy Speer (7-1 MMA)

yeah either him or Barrera. =)

I don't think Mac will just walk through the competition extremely easily, but he has all the experience in the world compared to most of those guys. He's right on the brink of breaking out right now. I guess they want to give him a major push on the show. We'll see if some of the solid fighters that will also be on the show can pull of the upset.

Case in point, Corey. He certainly looked better than anyone expected.

I think Danzig is going to put these fighters to shame becuase he is a lightweight..... that doesnt even cut to make weight. I wish they still had the format where they put on guys who had UFC fights before so I could see how good they are

Yeah, if wishes were nickels... Danzig is the only one I've seen fight in ANY promotion, but then I haven't really looked yet either.
