was there an interview with matt hughes where he said that he considered quitting the show?
and
when did taping start?
plus there are rumored 17 participants So i predict that someone gets injuired or sent home on the show
Matt mentioned it on his website. He does a weekly blog post. He might have mentioned it in an interview too though.
When they started taping, I'm not sure. Matt did mention that he got to go home on July 15th.

Man I was really hoping that Trigg (I hate his guts, but love his smack to Hughes) was gonna get to coach with Serra.

I can't remember now what podcast I was listening to, but Trigg and Serra were on at the same time and Trigg offered to help Serra with the wrestling on the TUF show. It may have been on Trigg's show, TAGG. I'm a podcast junkie, so who knows where I heard it for sure.
Did you hear that on a podcast or was it written up somewhere that Trigg may help out Serra?
I wonder how much say the UFC has in determining the assistant coaches. I doubt they stay completely out of it.

is it just me or would you have brought in different coaches (Like Renzo) to help out?

I think both of them could have done a better job. Why does Hughes need to bring along a wrestling coach and two boxers and Serra another BJJ guy?
Hughes should have brought in a BJJ specialist and Serra a wrestler and both of them could have brought a muay tai coach.
Maybe it's a matter of who is available and willing to do this for 6 weeks and not so much what their ideal coaching staff would be.

renzo might not have been avaliable for 6 weeks, but he would have been great on the show. Drago and Lawler are good assistant coaches and they are both competitive and like to talk smack so it should be entertaining
plus sell might very well be the worst cornerman out there

I'm pretty sure that the UFC suits have some say in who the coaches are. If its going to be someone outside of a UFC contract, they most likely don't want them to be fighting in a competing org. Odd how on TUF 3 Dean Lister was a coach and then turned up as a fighter with the UFC.

Thats what I meant. Laimon doesn't fight. The guys on BJ's staff this past season don't fight. But doubt that the UFC would want an say....Jake Shields (he rocks) as a coach.
