It can be done several different ways. here are a few ..... have fun ;)
This way is my favorite way, first clip is fast but replay it too catch the details overlooked in the following 2 clips

Now you won't always see something so fancy, nor will you be given the chance too. Basic set up looks more like this....

you can watch those videos all you want to elarn how to do the move but you asked how to set it up.
thats differant, im assuming you already know how to execute a triangle.
Some people may disagree with me but this comes from pure experience and i have plenty of it.
A triangle is best in 2 ways.
its amove you can fall into (ill explain after)
its a transition move.During MMA expecially its hard to set up a regular ol trinalge with punches and elbow and all sorts of things coming you way, it can also be hard in pure bjj because all your doing is BJJ and your opponent if he is good enough wont just let you get a triangle and the warning sings for a triangle are huge, you can see one coming a mile a way.
Therefore i never really look for a triangle off the bat, maybe an arbar and if that fails into a triangle (thats a transition)
An example of "falling into" a triangle would be your opponet trying to stand out of your gaurd then trying to jump back on top of you, when someone pulls away is the perfect time the throw that leg over the shoulder, we have all learned how do this straihgt from guard but thats why i say you can see it from a mile away. We also pratice a few triangle excapse so as soon as i see one coming im out of there before he can even lock his legs on me.
So there is my 2 cents.
