havent there been rumors of Overeem, Sokodjou, Kang, Sakuraba, and aleks being on this card?

I hope they are, just so the UFC can beat themselves up over not signing some of these fighters.

Edit: im not suggesting that you add those fighters to this card becuase the rumors have been iffy

Sokoudjou and Overeem were both going to be on the last card. Soko had visa issues(applied too late), and Overeem didn't have an opponent. He was going to fight Soko, then they tried to give him Manhoef, but Manhoef didn't want the fight.

I'm not sure if Soko is under contract yet, but they are definitely negotiating. I'm 90% certain that Overeem will be on the card.

Kang is negotiating with K-1 according to a trainer at ATT. So it's possible that the Saku/Kang rumors may be true. As far as Aleks goes, I haven't heard anything about it.

Marcelo is signed and I believe he'll have his debut sometime this year.

Sergei was bound to happen after he joined Team Golden Glory. Golden Glory has many K-1 fighters that include Semmy Schilt, Alistair Overeem, Chalid "Die Faust" Arrab, etc.

couldnt agree more. Every fighter that has signed to heroes (except kang) imo is better suited for that org then the UFC

I don't know if it's just me but I really am a big fan of Hero's (Japanese) style of MMA Presentation. I prefer it over American MMA any day

Me too. The showmanship, the respect, the history, and not to mention the greatest part of all...the freakshows. :D

With me it's not that I like one more than the other. I like some things better in the Japanese presentation and some better in the American. It's the variety that I like.

Some fighters fit better in one format or the other. No small matter imo is the importance of competion between promotions. In the long run it is better for the sport and the fighters.

And to answer your question Uber, yeah, Ralek is off the card. He has some sort of shoulder injury I believe. Kevin Casey, who is a Rickson Gracie student, will take his place. It will be an Open Weight fight now.

Kultar Gill is out with a shoulder and neck injury. He is rumored to be replaced by Chute Box fighter Andre Dida. Dida won a reserve match earlier in the tourney.

^^^ Kind of funny considering that they are teammates at Golden Glory now. I believe it though because I read where Sergei wanted to fight Alistair to avenge that loss. He wanted to get the fight out of the way so they can start training together more. I'll trust his website for now.
