Could the hype be real? Will UFC light heavyweight Tito Ortiz and UFC president Dana White really put on boxing gloves and duke it out as part of the terms it took to get Ortiz back in the UFC?

It's been talked about for some time, but Sunday evening Tito Ortiz revealed that he has a specific date in mind to try and knock around his boss in the ring.

"After this next fight (against Ken Shamrock on October 10th), I'll only have a couple days to rest then I'll start boxing again to get ready to fight Dana. I think it's happening on October 20th" said Ortiz.

Not only did Ortiz give a date he believes that the match with White will happen on, he also said that fans will be able to see the action themselves on pay per view.

"I think it's going to be on pay per view for about $15.00, so that's great because it will be pretty cheap. So fans should check it out. I'm pretty excited, not many people get to hit their bosses, and I'm going to get a chance to do that" Ortiz went on.

Ortiz and White's relationship has appeared complex and sometimes volatile from the outside looking in, and it has been punctuated by multiple stand-offs regarding contractual agreements over the years. When Ortiz returned to the company recently both he and White said that it was written into the terms of Ortiz' contract that he would get to box White, ostensibly to hash things out for good.

InsideFighting has not yet spoken with Dana White or any other UFC officials regarding the possible fight and pay per view spectacle, but we will attempt get a hold of more of the possibly involved parties this week.

Not to be funny, but can White fight? Dose he have a record or certain style or a resume of some sorts?

MMARR: I wanted to talk a little bit about your own martial arts history first, apparently you were a very seasoned amateur boxer, with quite an extensive record in the amateur boxing ranks, I was told that you were almost at one time considering going pro. Can you tell me a little bit about that?

DW: I was considering going pro but I never did and it messed with me for a long time. I think I stopped letting it mess with me when I was about 31 or 32. I really wanted to do it bad, but there is always that fine line of…It takes a lot of heart and a certain type of person to decide “I want to be a pro fighter and I am going to dedicate my life to it.” Because there is always that fear in the back of your head that you are going to wake up and be 33 or 34 when it is over, and have not made it and have nothing. That is why I have so much respect for the guys that do, put it all on the line and go for it and decide that that is what they want to do with their life and give it a shot.

But like brvheart said ... i think it will never happen. OR if its done as a stunt it will be under special "Tyson" type rules....lol But it wont ever happen, think about it....if you could fight your boss wouldn't you put that in your contract too? lol Dana would never leave the ring ;)

It's official!! Dana and Tito will have an actual boxing match. No MMA rules, it will be like I said under special rules....boxing rules to be specific ;)

When Tito started out in his UFC MMA career he sparred wit Dana in the past. Dana has been sparing with alot of people both in and out of the UFC world. He is a really good boxer, and this will be a nice fight. I think it will end up like a Tito/Chuck repeat. lol

GO DANA!!
