Anaroch - Need your help guys

Ok, I play this game called Anaroch. It's a text-based RPG game. It's nothing special, mindless fun really.

Anyways, I'm here to solicit referrals from you fine forum members.

Anaroch has unfortunately died recently due to a server crash. However, the maker of Anaroch has another game called Halo Crusades.

It's actually quite fun, it addresses all of my gripes that I had with Anaroch. The best thing I like about it is that it resets every hour.

That site is going to get shut down so fast if Bungie or Microsoft even gets a whiff that it exists.

I am thinking of creating my own MMA simulator that is a little more detailed and through than the one found here:

Things I want to include are injuries, training, aging effects, money, scheduled fights, titles, etc...

I am trying to get a Apache2 server running on my linux box, but I can't set the permissions correctly and the great Google is failing me. I am thinking of doing it in a MS Server environment using ASP and SQL Server, but that requires finding a specialized host for the site.

Anyone have any experience with this?
