All 10 fighters who were tested for drugs of abuse and performance-enhancing drugs following this month's WEC 35 event tested clean.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer today emailed the results to MMAjunkie.com ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).

WEC 35 took place Aug. 3 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and aired live on Versus. The championship triple-header was yet another solid WEC event lauded by MMA fans.

Fighters tested by the NSAC included headliners Carlos Condit and Hiromitsu Miura, as well as Brian Stann, Steve Cantwell, Jamie Varner, Marcus Hicks, Brian Bowles, Josh Grispi, Scott Jorgensen and Brock Larson.

The event featured successful title defenses for Condit and Varner, and Cantwell's upset of Stann for the WEC's light-heavyweight title.

As standard practice, the NSAC randomly choses fighters for the tests, though all main-event and championship-bout participants are usually tested. Fighters who failed previous tests are also more likely to be tested. The commission tests for drugs of abuse (such as marijuana and cocaine), as well as anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancers.

Snotty of me, but at soon as I read the title of this thread, All WEC 35 fighters test clean, my first thought was, "for a change." I'm getting jaded about the illegal drugs thing in mma.

I understand what you mean. when i watch fights now i find myself asking 'which one is gonna pee hot?'. It is sad but unfortunately its true. I gotta say that other than James Irvin, its been pretty clean lately. oh and that brazilian chick, her last name is Damm i think.

It's not just MMA either. There have been at least two cases of doping in this Olympics already.

great point omni. and how many other major sports figures get busted every year. seems to be a lot if you ask me. we're just harder on the mma participants than we are on the rest of the sports world. well i am anyway.

Same here, but I think that is pretty understandable. I care a lot more about what is going on in this sport across the board.
