10 Questions With Chase Beebe (by Darrick Patrick)

Chase "The Rage" Beebe is a professional mixed martial artist who has appeared in organizations such as World Extreme Cagefighting, King Of The Cage, Courage Fighting Championships, Xtreme Fighting Organization, Evolution Fighting Championships, and Iowa Challenge.

Darrick: What was the path that led you to competing in professional mixed martial arts?

Chase: Wrestling! I knew that I had the potential to be good at this sport based on the edge that I had by being good at wrestling. It translates into the sport of MMA so well, if you only learn to adapt. You must always maintain an open mind at all times.

Darrick: Do you have any words of advice for other individuals looking to train in MMA?

Chase: Start with Jiu-Jitsu if you have no experience. It is one of (if not the most) important parts of the game. It's the X factor and you must have it mastered - or at least the defense, which can be learned far easier than the offense, but you must know all of the offense in order to have the defense. It's crazy and something I myself obviously need to work on diligently.

Darrick: Who are a few of the people in the sport that you highly respect?

Chase: Randy, Chuck, Anderson, Wanderlei, Sherk, B.J., and Fitch - I have great admiration for all those guys. You can not. Also, those who have invested into the sport and have contributed to what it has become today. It's an amazing thing that's happening and all people who can appreciate the spectacle of competition in it's purest form, and the level two warriors can bring each other to relying on their most basic of instincts, is cool in my book.

Darrick: What does a typical training session for you consist of?

Chase: WAR! I train twice a day extremely intense and very hard. I feel like I was hit by a truck at the end of the day. I have seen what it is to be the best and realize what it takes to get there. You really need to be an intelligent person to be successful at this sport, and also be open to criticism, because usually everyone has something to offer. Also, I do six five-minute rounds of grappling in the morning and six rounds of full sparring at night.

Darrick: Who are some of the people that greatly influenced you while growing up?

Chase: My dad, mom, brothers, a good family atmosphere - however it was rough with four brothers all around the same age. Survival of the fittest at a young age.

Darrick: What brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?

Chase: Bettering myself and knowing that I can push myself beyond what I think I am capable of.

Darrick: Outside of MMA, what are your other interests?

Chase: I like to just chill and have a good time.

Darrick: What moments in your life have you been proudest of so far?

Chase: Winning my first two titles and knowing that I performed beyond my capabilities.

Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

Chase: I play Halo a lot.

Darrick: What is your oldest memory?

Chase: Getting my butt whooped on the wrestling mat as a little kid, and not having a care in the world about it.

I think everyone plays Halo but me.
