What is the Christian view of surrogacy? Fertilizing an egg in a petri dish and then inserting fertilized eggs into another woman for a couple that could not have or carry kids otherwise?

I personally do not have a problem with it but I think that it is a risky thing to do for all involved. The woman carrying the child to term can change her mind at any time and for any reason and there is not anything that can be done about that.

It's above my head on christianity terms.....I just live for God...I don't get into the science stuff
Christians, like any other group of people, are not all cut from the same cloth. I'm sure there are some sects that are against it, but most likely aren't.

I stick with the first response. It is a mature view to point out the potential for serious emotional bruising. But man...I personally, and i know my church would have zero problems with it. I cannot think of a scripture that would come against that idea. JUST MY opinion.

Being agnostic myself, I've had several people tell me that each religion would view it differently. My friend is Catholic and the supposed line that the church of Cathol follows is that it's not permitted. Mormons seems to be ok with it (there's really not too much they're not ok with, if you asked me). I don't know the specific denomination here, but I wanted to bounce the idea off of you and see what responses I got.
It's not going to change our plans and all that in anyway, I just wanted to toss a pebble and see where the ripples went. Just making conversation. The responses I got weren't what I was expecting. Not that I expected a specific yay or nay, but I did expect something. Everyone seemed to follow the line keith laid out in the first post.
I realize that everyone is an individual little snowflake, but if you choose to call yourself something cut from a similar cloth, there has to be some kind of dogma or statement on it I'd imagine. Maybe I'm wrong. Each cell isn't as autonomous as they may wish to think because the basis for the grouping still has to be some common ground. Is that to say there is no statement or stance from the general Christian group? If not, what do you personally think? What do you think as it pertains to your beliefs? Just anything... I dunno.
