OUCH!
I've seen that one... but couldn't find any specifics -I bet a K-1 forum would know all about it.

Aren't accidental injuries always a N/C (No Contest) -like if you accidently kick a guy in the 'beanbag' and he can't continue? Maybe the rules vary between MMA and K-1 and Muay Thai events.

Frank Mir broke his leg, and has a Titanium Rod in there .. and he still competes, so I guess it's *possible* the guy returned .. I think I'd just be a trainer if that ever happened to me.

Hmmm.. Frank's site mentiones the leg injury (of course) but not the rod. Perhaps I read that on another forum.

I saw a clip on youtube of some karate guy getting chokeslammed in a MMA fight. I wish I could find the clip, I never thought to save it when I first saw it. The karate guy runs towrds the MMA guy with a flying kick and misses, they circle one another for a few seconds , it goes to the mat, then the MMA guy literally grabs him and hurls him head first into the mat with great force. They stopped the fight immediately but the karate guy was yelling and contorting his body. I guess he ticked the MMA guy off with the wildly innaccurate running high kick.

I found the clip, my memory was mostly correct. The TKD guy had him in a headlock on the mat and the MMA guy just picks him up like a little kid a throws him on his head, vicious. I felt bad for the poor TKD guy but I must admit that my goal for every fight is to leave my opponent with the same look on their face as that poor TKD guy when he is oon the mat.
Here is the clip, its short;

Oh my gosh, I've never seen that clip. That slam freaked me out. That was scary vicious. What freaked me even more is that it's Travis Fulton from right near here in Cedar Falls. I just saw him fight last month at the Iowa Challenge. I can't wait to see him again and bring up that slam. I hope he can tell me how bad the guy was hurt. Wow....
