Forum FAQs - 3 expanding ideas

I’ve got a few ideas for the forum. They are informational intended for helping people use this site and/or communicate easier. Most forums, including this one, have a FAQ section, but they are rudimentary.

I figured that everyone could contribute ideas for things to be included and help with definitions. I’ve just listed enough for you to understand the ideas.


Idea #1: section that explains all the nuances of the forum tools. Below are a few of the things that could be included.

Reputation
How many points are you giving to that person?
Can the receiver of rep see who gave them the rep?
Does negative feedback rep take points away from that person?
Where do the points come from, is it being taken from the person giving rep?
How often can you give the same person rep?

Belts
What are the different levels?
How many points to achieve each level?

Earning Points
Making a post = x pts
Starting a thread = x pts
Reading a thread = x pts
Receiving a gift = x pts

Bank
Why use it?


Idea #2: section that lists all the acronyms that we are all so fond of. This could include things that are just MMA related and also, computer lingo. This would help people that are new to the sport and people that are just new to forums/computers.

Mixed Martial Arts Related
MMA
RNC
LnP
GnP

Computer Lingo
LOL
NP
TTYL


Idea #3: useful links

Youtube
Wikipedia
Urban dictionary
Picture hosting sites

ok i voted... i said i liked them, because what you said was useful and i don't know a lot of those terms... but there is something to consider- would i have even found a FAQ section? Probably not - I'm a dufus :P

Humm.....problem....interesting....I'm on it.......GOT IT!

1. Scroll to the top of the page
2. Find bar that starts on far left side with "Extras"
3. Look slo[Only registered and activated users can see links] to the right until you see "FAQ"
4. Click on FAQ

Problem solved, no longer dufus. :whoo:
